About Amelia
Who knew that playing a bottle of mustard could spark a passion that could last a lifetime? I’m Amelia Gibbons (she/her) and I am a Wisconsin-Based performer. My first role was “Mustard” in Beauty and the Beast at 6 years old, and since then, my love of performance has only grown.
My career began to flourish in my high school years when I competed in vocal competitions. I took home titles in many competitions including 1st Place in the Hal Leonard International Vocal Competition. Check out my 1st Place Hal Leonard Video where I sing “With You” from Ghost the Musical and “Astonishing” from Little Women: Here
In 2022, I was selected as a nominee for Outstanding Lead Actress in the Center Stage High School Musical Theatre Awards for my role of “Rosie” in Green Bay Southwest High School’s Production of Mamma Mia. After auditioning, I was announced as the Outstanding Lead Actress Winner for 2022. I then went to the Jimmy Awards as a Nominee where I performed on Broadway at the Minskoff Theatre.
I am currently studying to receive my B.F.A in Musical Theatre and a minor in Child, Youth, and Family studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Performance is the most beautiful and effortless form of connection. I connect with audience members, my peers, the material, and especially within myself. This is a beautiful and rare thing that I am very fortunate to have found.
I also have a passion for Special Education and I hope to see this in my future as well as Musical Theatre! Some of my most fulfilling memories were creating an adaptive Prom for my friends in the Special Education program and assisting to develop an Adaptive Music class at Green Bay Southwest High School. Offstage, I enjoy making crafts, traveling, journaling, and songwriting.
